He was born December 21, 1905 in Norfolk, Virginia to Reverend Benjamin Franklin and Sophie Howell Robinson. In 1932, he married Earle Patteson, an elementary school principal. Robinson was an active member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church. He died at age 81 on April 8th, 1987 and is buried in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Appomattox.","Robinson attended the University of Richmond from 1922 to 1926 and was an active member of a number of organizations and fraternities, as well as student government.","After graduation, he worked as a schoolteacher and then an assistant editor for the Eastern Shore News in Virginia. In 1931, he bought the Times-Virginian, an Appomattox newspaper, and began writing a column for it under the name \"Father Darkleaf.\" He sold the paper in 1962 but continued writing his column. He hosted a radio show called \"The County Editor\" for WWOD in Lynchburg, Virginia. Robinson was a civil war buff and active member of his community in Appomattox, organizing the 100th anniversary celebration of the surrender at the Appomattox Courthouse. He was also a member of the town council.","This collection contains the college scrapbook of Calvin H.
