John Daly took the position of head coach of the women's soccer team in 1987 and has since led the team to success in both regular and post season competition, earning his own 400th win in 2016. Virginia founded the Chesapeake Broadcast Company in 1948 with her first husband, Jason Thomas Pate. She gave a presentation for William and Mary's Career Speaker Series in 1982 about her time and experiences in broadcasting. In 1969 she was awarded the Alumni Medallion. She was a member of the William and Mary Society of the Alumni and participated in planning the fiftieth reunion of the class of 1940. In 1972, she married Edward Wetter and changed her name to Virignia Wetter.
