The collection includes correspondence and individual case files. These files contain age and place of birth of each victim; dependents' names, ages, and places of residence; and amount of each relief payment. There is a record of all contributions to the Relief Committee, financial transactions with banks in Fairmont and Monongah, committee organization and reports, and correspondence with foreign embassies concerning relatives of deceased miners.
