He received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1955. After his graduation, he worked briefly for DuPont before joining the U. S. Navy. Crewdson married Lois Ellen Perkins (1934-2018) on August 5, 1956, while he was still in the Navy. Following his service, Crewdson received a Masters of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary, an Episcopal seminary in Alexandria. Crewdson later received his Doctor of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond. Crewdson spent the rest of his career working in the Episcopal Church. He received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1955. After his graduation, he worked briefly for DuPont before joining the U. S. Navy. Crewdson married Lois Ellen Perkins (1934-2018) on August 5, 1956, while he was still in the Navy.
